Chariot festival of Puri is one of the spectacular congregations. This festival also names as Rath Yatra and on this day , the God of Puri temple- Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra along with their sister Subhadra embark on their annual sojourn to Gundicha temple. Famous Car festival of Puri‘s main attractions are its chariots and the classifications are Lord Jagannath’s chariot is named as Nandighosa is covered with red & yellow robes, its height is 45.6 feet, number of wheels are 16 in number and number of horses are 4 and all are white. Lord Baladhabra’s chariot is Taladhwaja, which has red & blue robes of cloth, height is 45 feet with 14 wheels and 4 black horses leads it and Devi Subhadra’s chariot is named as Darpadolana or Devidolana, covered with red & black cloth with the height of 44.6 feet, 12 numbers of wheels and four red horses leads it.

Rath Yatra 2015 is going to provide great experience as it is celebrated with Nabakalebara festival. Nabakalebara festival comes after every 12 to 19 years according to Hindu Calendar. It is usually held in a year when the month of Asadha is followed by another Asadha. Accordingly the previous ‘Nabakalebars’ took place in the years 1969, 1978, and 1996; and the forthcoming one will be held in the year 2015.
