This bathing goes on for a few hours in the midst of kirtanas glorifying their ships and the chanting of the maha-mantra. Lord Jagannatha’s prasada is also offered to all visitors. Some even observe this festival as the birthday of Lord Jagannath. Devotees from different parts of the country come and witness this unique event.
